Huw Jones, PhD – Chief Executive Officer

 Dr Huw Jones, aged 48, was appointed a Director in 2006. He is a founding partner of strategy consultancy Daffodil Consulting LLP. From 2002 to 2006 he was president, Europe for CV Therapeutics Inc, a NASDAQ – quoted pharmaceutical company. He was also Non–executive Chairman of Ashborne Pharmaceuticals Ltd until the sale of the company to Sinclair plc in 2006. His previous appointments include senior vice–president, Northern Europe, for Elan Pharmaceuticals and UK marketing director for SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals. Huw holds a PhD in pharmacology from the University of Birmingham

  

Graham Lee, BA, FCA – Chief Financial Officer

Graham Lee, aged 53, joined Ardana as Chief Financial Officer in 2004. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Whinney in 1979 and has previously worked for Upjohn Ltd, the US multinational pharmaceutical business, then as UK Finance Director at Pharmacia & Upjohn and latterly as European Finance Director for the Pharmacia Corporation.

  

Simon Best, MBA, FRSE, D.Univ – Non–executive Chairman

Simon Best, aged 50, co–founded Ardana in 2000 and was Chief Executive until 2004 when he was appointed as Executive Chairman. He became Non–Executive Chairman in March 2005. Mr Best received his MBA from the London Business School in 1985. He is former Chief Executive Officer of Zeneca Plant Sciences and was founding Chief Executive Officer of Roslin Bio–Med. He is Chairman of the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA) and a Non–executive Director of Entelos Inc. (Foster City, California) and Direvo Biotech (Hamburg, Germany) 

 

John Brown, PhD, MBA, FRSE – Non–executive Director

Dr John Brown, aged 52, joined Ardana in 2004. Dr Brown is Chairman of the Roslin Institute, Scottish Biomedical, CXR Ltd and Onyvax Ltd and a Non–executive Director of Protherics plc and Vectura Group plc. He was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Acambis plc. Dr Brown is Chairman of BIA Scotland and is a member of the DTI Technology Strategy Board. 

 

Carol Ferguson, MA, CA – Non–executive Director

Carol Ferguson, aged 60, was appointed a Director in 2005. She is a former partner and lead oil analyst at stockbrokers Wood Mackenzie, and was Finance Director of a textiles company. She is currently Non–executive Director of Vernalis plc, Gartmore Smaller Companies Investment Trust, Merrill Lynch Greater Europe Investment Trust and the Association of Investment Trust Companies where she is also a deputy chairman. She is also Non–executive Director of Monks Investment Trust and the Chartered Accountants Compensation Scheme. She is a graduate of St Andrews University and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

  

Chris Moyses, DM MRCP FFPM - Non-executive Director

Dr Chris Moyses, aged 51, was appointed a Director on 27 June 2007. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London, Chief Medical Officer and Director of Argenta Discovery Limited and Non-executive Chairman of Senexis Limited. He was formerly Research and Development Director of Pharmagene plc, Chief Medical Officer of Oxford GlycoSciences plc and Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Amylin Europe.
